Q&A
Who motivates you most?
Nicholas Dlamini.
What got you into your sport?
My dad and uncles used to cycle the Argus, now the Cape Town Cycle Tour, with a goal of sub 3 hours. It was always my goal to beat them but also to see by how much I could improve. After doing pretty well, lots of people started showing interest in my cycling and came to assist and advise me on which clubs to join. From that point forward, I’ve just tried to grasp every opportunity with both hands.
Biggest sporting achievements to date?
Representing South Africa at the World Championships in 2013.
What’s your ultimate sporting ambition?
In cycling, my ambition is to be the best rider that I can be and use the sport to help me get where I need to be. It has already given me so many opportunities as well as helping me get an education.
Rainmaker has offered me the opportunity to work for them as an intern. As we all know, cycling isn’t forever so, ultimately, I want to work hard to be a valuable asset to the Company so that one day, I get made permanent.
What does 2019 have in store for you?
2019 brings me the opportunity to race and work in London. I can’t wait to race my bike together with working to make a difference in other people’s lives.

What difference will Rainmaker’s sponsorship make to you?
Rainmakers sponsorship has already changed my life. It has saved me. I was at the point of putting my studies on hold and Rainmaker stepped in to allow me to continue. I want to be part of a winning company; one that is changing the lives of many individuals out there.
What do you do when you’re not doing your sport?
I study, read books, watch TV and watch motivational videos.
